The School of Teaching ESL created cooperative agreements with partner universities to give students many choices regarding continuing professional development in English Language Teaching. Requirements varied over time, but programs were always designed and developed based on university requirements, state accreditation, and TESOL best practices.

Graduate Credit

Students had the option to protect the post-bachelor’s credits for admission into a university graduate program by completing an additional project. Upon approval of the project, the student received paperwork indicating that the credits had met the graduate credit requirements. Both Seattle University and Seattle Pacific University had agreements to accept a certain number of these credits into their MA programs. Other universities have also accepted the credits, but it was always at their discretion to do so. The university transcript does not indicate that the graduate credit was approved; it is up to the student to keep the confirming documentation. S-TESL does not maintain these records.
